Morning Prayer for Tuesday
We greet the Day
O Lord, open our lips:
and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit;*
as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever.
Amen.
Hear, O Israel
Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
This is
the first and the great commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbour
as yourself. There is
no commandment greater than these.
Kyrie
Lord,
have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Collect
Gracious God, we give you thanks for the gift of this new day. May we know your loving presence in this time
of prayer and throughout the day. We ask
for your blessing in our lives, and your peace in our hearts. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
The
Song of Zechariah
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; *
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
*
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies, *
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers *
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father
Abraham, *
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear, *
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, *
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
To give his people knowledge of
salvation *
by the forgiveness of their sins.
In the tender compassion of our God *
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
To shine on those who dwell in
darkness
and the shadow of death, *
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to the Father and to the Son, and
to the Holy Spirit;*
as it was in the beginning, is now, and
shall be forever.
Amen.
Reading: Matthew 5:1-10
The Beatitudes
When Jesussaw the crowds, he went up the mountain; and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come
into his presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It
is he that made us, and we are his;[a]
we
are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and
his courts with praise.
Give
thanks to him, bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good;
his
steadfast love endures forever,
and
his faithfulness to all generations.

Our Lady of Lourdes Prayer for healing
O
ever-Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy,
health of the sick, refuge of sinners,
comforter of the afflicted,
you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings;
look with mercy on me.
By
appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes,
you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary,
whence you dispense your favours;
and already many sufferers have obtained
the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with complete confidence to implore your maternal intercession.
Obtain,
O loving Mother, the grant of my requests (mention your petition)
Through gratitude for your favours, I will endeavour to imitate your virtues, that I may one day share your glory.
Amen.
We pray for our own needs and concerns, giving thanks that answers and resolution are already on their way to us. Especially, we offer these concerns to you.......
We give thanks for those who have died and for those who mourn their passing. May they find comfort and hope in the joy of your promise that you will greet us at the last and take us to your Father's house.
Hear us, through Jesus Christ our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you in
the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass
against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the
power,
and the glory,
now and for ever.
Amen.
Concluding Prayers
Lord Jesus, who traveled with the disciples on the road to Emmaus: Be with me on the way, that I may know you in the scriptures, in the breaking of bread, and in the hearts of all whom I meet. Amen.
May the God of peace enable me to do
his will in every kind of goodness, working in us what pleases him, through
Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever
and ever. Amen.
Gracious
God, gifts without measure flow from your goodness
to give us your peace.
Our life is your gift.
Guide our life's journey,
for only your love makes us whole.
Keep us strong in your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
This day I choose to live simply. In situations that prompt thoughts of judgment, anxiety, doubt or worry, I ask for greater faith and trust in the blessings of God.. As I move through this day, may I remember to be my best self - cheerful, generous and kind, careful in conversation, respectful of others and loving to those who depend on me. Through my words and actions, may your Love be made known. Amen
Let us bless the Lord:
Thanks be to God!
Night Prayer for Tuesday
Our help is in the name of the Lord
who made heaven and earth.
O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen. Alleluia.
O
Gracious Light
O
gracious light pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of Life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
A
period of silence for reflection on the past day may follow.
Most merciful God,
I confess to you,
before the whole company of heaven,
that I have sinned in thought, word and deed
and in what I have failed to do.
Forgive me and free me from my sins,
heal me by your Spirit
and raise me to new life in Christ. Amen.
Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and on all people of the world.
The Word of God
Psalm 231 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; he
leads me beside still waters;
3 he restores my soul He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head
with oil; my
cup overflows.
6 Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd. The good
shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The
hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf
coming and leaves the sheep and runs away—and the wolf snatches them and
scatters them. The hired hand runs away because
a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am
the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just
as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the
sheep."
The Nunc Dimittis (The Song of Simeon)
Save us, O Lord, while waking,
and guard us while sleeping,
that awake we may watch with Christ
and asleep may rest in peace.
1Now, Lord, you let your servant go in peace: •
your word has been fulfilled.
2My
own eyes have seen the salvation •
which you have prepared in the sight of every people;
3A light to reveal you to the nations •
and the glory of your people Israel.
Glory
to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning is now and shall be for ever. Amen.
Prayers
In peace we will lie down and sleep;
For you alone, Lord, make us dwell in safety.
Abide with us, Lord Jesus,
or the night is at hand and the day is now past.
As the night watch looks for the morning,
so do we look for you, O Christ.
Gracious, God, I give you thanks for the day that has
passed
For blessings, for challenges, for your steadfast love.
I pray for those whom I love, especially those who need your love and healing
presence.
I pray for all the people in this world who are lonely, helpless, desperate and
in any kind of need,
Send your angels to minister and care for each person.
And, I lay my concerns at your feet knowing that you are already working for my
highest and best. I place my trust in
you, heavenly Father, and clear my mind of any stress or worry.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass
against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the
power,
and the glory,
now and for ever.
Amen.
Save us, O Lord, while waking, and guard us while
sleeping,
that awake we may watch with Christ and
asleep may rest in peace.
Into your hands, O
Lord, I commend my spirit.
Into your hands, O Lord, I
commend my spirit.
For you have redeemed me, Lord God of
truth.
I commend my spirit.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and
to the Holy Spirit.
as it was in the
beginning is now and shall be for ever. Amen.
Into
your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
The Lord bless us and watch over us;
the Lord make his face shine upon us and be gracious to us;
the Lord look kindly on us and give us peace.
The Lord almighty grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. Amen
The
Prayer of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of
the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me
blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.
(Lk 1:46-55)
Let us bless the Lord:
Thanks be to God!
