The Community Catholic Church of Canada

An Inclusive and Progressive Community in the Catholic/Anglican Tradition

The Most Reverend Patricia Davies, Presiding Bishop

Our Presiding Bishop
The Most Reverend Patricia Davies

I wish to offer you a warm welcome as you browse through our website.

It may be the first time that you've heard that there are other catholic churches beside the Roman Catholic church.  We are in fact one of many in the catholic family of churches and have valid orders and apostolic succession.  You'll find a little more background below.

We believe that the most important message for us as Christians rests in the Two Great Commandments given to us by Jesus: love God with all our heart, mind and soul, and love our neighbours as ourself.

The heart of Jesus' teaching, preaching and life example holds this one intention -LOVE. This is our message as the Community Catholic Church and we welcome all who are eager to learn more about how Love is at work in your life.

In the church calendar, we are journeying through the liturgical season called "Ordinary Time" which stretches through the summer and fall and allows a deeper understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus.

As we take a more leisurely pace, we come to appreciate the many ways in which Jesus affirms again and again.  As we read the Scripture passages Sunday by Sunday, we are reminded of the ways in which our Creator offers a constant invitation to know a life of love, hope and renewal in this life and in the next!

As we enter the sunny days of summertime, I pray that you take some time each day to offer prayers for this world.  Pray for those in any need or distress.  Pray that Love would transform the hearts of all people; that compassion would move each person to assist another in some small way; that peace would fill every heart and hope light each face.  And, dear friend, we pray the same for you.

Peace be with you,

+ The Most Reverend Patricia Davies

A CARING COMMUNITY IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION
serving Mississauga and surrounding communities

St. Anne’s Parish was established as an open community of people, whose roots are in many denominations, worshiping in homes as well as other locations, all services co-ordinated through St. Anne’s Parish.  The Presiding Bishop, The Most Reverend Patricia Davies (pictured above) is the Rector of the Parish.

Our Church is in harmony with the early Christians in which the Apostles would hold worship wherever they found themselves — in the temple at Jerusalem, in private houses, in caves and in other places where two or more could praise God. St. Anne's is under the jurisdiction of the Community Catholic Church of Canada,  an independent church incorporated in 1960.

Every Sunday, Mass is held in the Sheridan Park area of Mississauga - please contact us for information on times. The ministries provided at any suitable location to sincere persons of all faiths are: Christian Initiation (Baptism), Wedding, Memorial and Funeral services. Ministries provided to all Christians are: The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession and Absolution); Holy Matrimony (and Nuptial Eucharist); Anointing (Sacrament of Healing); the Holy Eucharist (Communion) and the Requiem Eucharist.

With roots in the Old Catholic Church, the Community Catholic Church of Canada traces their Apostolic Succession back to the original Apostles. They are part of a network self-governing churches brought together in the union of Utrecht (1889) after their break from the Roman Church because of innovations in dogma and/or through one of the many ethnic Eastern Orthodox Churches which had separated from the Roman Church in 1054.

Catholicism, properly defined, is a religion of faith and freedom. St. Anne’s invites all sincere persons to its services. For those whose wish to practice an historic faith with a ritualistic liturgy and a recognition of personal liberty, you will find a home at St. Anne’s.
